Thank you for clarifying @jianying-zhang. I’m afraid research skills are beyond the scope of the course. The course is aimed at EAP/ESP teachers with an interest in corpora who wish to familiarise themselves with basic qualitative and qualitative corpus techniques and apply these to their teaching practice and materials development. Of course, some of the suggested readings are research articles and/or refer to research studies in case you are interested in reading further. We won’t cover concepts such as the principles of corpus design, data visualisation or writing a research report. These are usually taught in credit-bearing modules that are part of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Happy to direct you to universities that offer such courses if you are interested in an academic qualification in corpus linguistics.
