10.6 - Nouns

What rule could you tell a learner to avoid making this mistake in the future?

Other noun classifications include:

  • concrete (i.e. a noun that refers to a real physical object)
  • abstract (i.e. a noun that refers to a thing that does not exist as a material object)
  • collective  (i.e. a noun for a group of people of things)

The next question has three parts. Use the left and right arrows  to move through the questions.

As you can see, the same word can have different classifications. For example, ‘shop’ can be classified as a common, a concrete and a countable noun.
