Other noun classifications include: 

  • concrete (i.e. a noun that refers to a real physical object)
  • abstract (i.e. a noun that refers to a thing that does not exist as a material object)
  • collective  (i.e. a noun for a group of people of things)

As you can see, the same word can have different classifications. For example, ‘shop’ can be classified as a common, a concrete and a countable noun.
